Helen FinchHelen has worked in the voluntary and not-for-profit sectors for over 13 years and has expertise in marketing, income generation and publishing.

She currently works in a business development role for the charity Counsel and Care, a charity that provides information and advice to older people and their families and carers. Before that she worked for six years for the mental health charity Mind, and for the HIV & AIDS information charity NAM.

Helen studied theology in Bristol and is currently pursuing a particular interest in Buddhism. Other interests include reading (she is a member of two reading groups), cycling, walking and tending her very small vegetable patch.

She and her partner have lived in East Ham for 16 years, and in 2005 became Newham's first-ever civil partners.

Helen became a member of Conflict and Change's management committee in 2009 and hopes to help the organisation towards developing a broad and sustainable range of income generating activities.
