Conflict & Change was founded by volunteers and they remain very much at the heart of everything we do. Our team of 50+ volunteers have a variety of roles in which they help build stronger relationships between people in Newham.
This includes volunteering as;
- a Community Conversations facilitator and outreach assistant
- a Mediator (neighbour and family related)
- a Community Development outreach assistant
- a Training Assistant delivering our personal development courses
- a Management Committee member
- in Fundraising and Events
- in Publicity using your writing, editing, video, PR, journalism or publishing skills
- a placement volunteer in some areas of our work (when available roles will be advertised)
A summary of all the roles can be downloaded here - Volunteer Opportunities 2011
Most of our volunteer roles are face-to-face roles in the community, helping people find common ground and embrace, rather than reinforce their differences. And we have non face-to-face roles too. You might be a strategic thinker who could complement our Management Committee, or a budding journalist who could spread the word through our regular newsletter or by generating media attention. You might be happy to share your connections with other relevant organisations and individuals with us. The list goes on…
Unfortunately we aren’t able to offer volunteering opportunities within our Children and Young People’s Team as these roles are given to graduates of our 16-21 year old TRUCE 2020 project. If you are aged 16-21 and interested in volunteering please check out TRUCE's page.
We are recruiting for volunteers on an ongoing basis. To find out more about current opportunites, please get in touch on info@conflictandchange.co.uk or 020 8552 2050.
