Understanding Conflict Resolution- OCN accredited course

The course will cover:

  • Our own relationship to conflict
  • A deeper understanding of anger
  • Building on our own skills to work with conflict
  • Steps for resolving conflict in our own lives and the community
  • Moving on from conflict

Please note the accreditation is optional and requires written work.

We will follow this up with two one day trainings that can be taken together or separately.  They are:

Communicating for Results

This training will cover:

  • How we can be more effective in our communication with others
  • How to deal with difference of opinions
  • How to get people to listen to what is important to us

Dealing with Prejudice and Discrimination

This training will cover:

  • Understanding the discrimination cycle
  • How to deal with stereotypes and prejudice

For people who would want to become volunteers at Conflict and Change we offer:

Advanced Interpersonal Mediation Skills (AIMS) Training

  • 4 Day training where participants will explore the concept of mediation and practice mediation skills.

For volunteers who would like to become training assistants or Community Conversations Facilitators, we offer further Personal Development courses upon completion of all the courses above.

All the above courses will take place at our offices in East Ham, between 9.30 - 4.00

These courses are only free to Newham residents and for people who work in a Voluntary Organistaion in Newham.
