Training for Community Organisations

Posted in

Hands joined

We work closely with other local voluntary organisations and charities, supporting their work by training their volunteers and service users.

Our courses are designed to be appropriate to the needs of the group, however our main topics include:

  • Communication
  • Conflict resolution
  • Assertiveness
  • Parenting
  • Team work

If you are a voluntary or organisation or charity in Newham, please get in touch to discuss whether we can provide you with free training by contacting Tanya or Sonia on 020 8552 2050, or emailing us at training@conflictandchange.co.uk.

You can also download a leaflet about our training for community organisations here.

Examples and Endorsements

Here is some of the work we have done with local organisations, and what our trainees have said about the sessions:

  • We delivered 8 sessions over the last year to local mothers attending Alternatives.  These sessions focussed on developing communication and parenting skills.  The key worker, Julia Dexter, said:

“The session is interactive and fun. Parents grow in self awareness, realising how they respond to situations and that they could respond in a different way. They go away with tools to help themselves when they get into conflicting situations.”

  • We trained volunteers at INUF (Independent Newham Users Forum) in the conflict awareness and resolution skills relevant to their roles working with local people recovering from mental health problems.

"Activity-based learning helped concentration and focus over the two days. Trainers presented so open, positive and fair to all that seeing behind the surface of conflict situations is now clearer"

"The training was revealing and rewarding. I have learnt new ways of being assertive without hurting others"

"It was very good and encouraging. The trainers were very clear and answered all questions"
