Forgiveness Project

An exhibition of an amazing group of photographs and stories told by people whose lives have been shattered by conflict, violence, tragedy and injustice and who are learning to forgive and move on. Conflict and Change brought the exhibition to Stratford and East Ham in June 2005. In the words of Neeta, a member of our Management Committee:

“ I found the exhibition a very humbling experience; to see the photos and read the stories of different people in different parts of the world, some of whom have gone through the most horrendous experiences at the hands of others and yet have not only found the courage to live on but also the strength to face their ‘enemy’ and truly forgive. “

Public conversations

This project was initiated in response to the bombings in London on July 7th 2005. It was inspired by the Public Conversations Project in the United States, set up

To foster a more inclusive, empathic and collaborative society by promoting constructive conversations and relationships among those who have differing values, world views, and positions about divisive public issues.

Initial work for Public Conversations has laid the foundation for the Community Conversations project.

Tamil Community Forum

A series of meetings through 2005 and early 2006 culminated in a well attended conference at East Ham Town Hall on March 11th.
