Conflict and Change celebrated its AGM on Oct 27 at St. Bartholomews Centre, Barking Road.
Over recent years Conflict and Change has moved its focus to building trust between people from different communities who live in Newham. It does this by fostering dialogue to enthuse action, addressing issues and building skills for living together. People who attended the AGM learned about a Community Conversations project which runs events for people living in the same area to get to know each other and talk about “hot topics” in their neighbourhood.
Young people who have participated in the TRUCE 20/20 project also explained how the project has given them confidence and skills to resolve conflict, and created many opportunities for them to do peace building work in Newham.
