Another group of enthusiastic participants completed the Understanding Conflict training accredited by the Open College Network in June.
Read what they had to say.........
I found the training not only extremely informative and profoundly moving, but transformative. The manner in which the training was carried out and the behaviour modeled by the trainers was welcoming, respectful and inclusive. I was quite nervous at first, concerned about being judged and misunderstood by other participants, however the environment of trust and the value placed on listening helped alleviate these concerns and I found I was able to let these fears go and be fully present in the group. It was so wonderful to meet and share with people I might never otherwise encounter in my day to day life. I would absolutely recommend this training to anyone. It has helped me understand my own reactions, thoughts and behaviours and given me tools to engage meaningfully with other people, especially in difficult situations. Thank you.

I attended the training at conflict and change, as I work with a group of young people that are trying to make a Difference in other young peoples lives, some of them have completed a training course themselves in conflict resolution and I wanted to find out for my self what they learned. I found that the course showed me ways to deal with different situations; it gave me new techniques that will be valuable in my professional and personal life. This is an experience that all new parents and old could us. It is also something that should be part of management training in all aspects of working life.

I am glad I did the training sessions, I learnt how to communicate effectively and the differences that it can do in our everyday relationships. Now I know the true meaning when Albert Ellis says (1913-2007)"People and things do not upset us. Rather, we upset ourselves by believing that they can upset us.."

A course I feel would be beneficial to anyone regardless of their background. It has enabled me to listen and understand others more effectively.
