Lunch with the Councillor

On Thursday 8th AprilRos (Community Conversations Worker) and Nana (Volunteer and Education Team worker) were taken to lunch by Cllr Sharaf Mahmood for an evaluation meeting of the Community Talks event  and to plan for further community conversations in the Green Street East area.

The lunch was also a “thank you” to Conflict and Change for such a successful event.

A Woman in a man’s world. 27th April, 6-8 pm, Ithaca House, Stratford

Rasha El Fangry

Conflict & Change in partnership with Peace Direct, welcomes you to an inspirational evening to celebrate the key role women play in bringing people together in difficult circumstances.  

The event will be held on the 27th April, 6-8 pm, at Ithaca House (27 Romford Rd, Stratford, E15 4LJ– see the map ). 

Keynote speaker will be Rasha El Fangry  who will share some of the challenges and triumphs she has experienced as a peace builder in Sudan.

Let's Kick Racism Out Of Football - Faiths in Action participant's event

As part of the Faiths in Action ‘Building Bridges’ course when women have completed the training in facilitation skills, participants offer to run interfaith events.

Faiths in Action has a programme which aims to empower people to build bridges in their communities.  One part of this ‘Face to Face’ work is to develop local facilitation for interfaith events.  As it is recognized that this is an area where women tend to have less confidence, Conflict and Change put in a bid for training women in facilitation skills as part of our continuing vision to bring together people in Newham.  The hope is that women, after having completed the training, will run an
