Dear all,
I would like to thank you for coming to the ‘Woman in a Man’s World’ event, Rasha was really touched by the level of enthusiasm and support from you all. Thank you very much for giving her such a warm welcome and making this event a great place to meet like minded people who are willing to share their life stories.
As you know, Rasha had a very busy week giving talks across London, from diverse audiences such as diaspora women’s groups, the young people we work with through our Truce project, Chatham House and numerous journalists. Everywhere she went people commented on her conviction and determination to make a real difference on the ground, and her strength as a woman.
Rasha had brought some photos with her from Sudan and we thought it would be nice for you to see few pics and some extra information about the work of ‘Collaborative for Peace’. Please click the link for pictures and stories of one of the interventions Rasha has been involved with, which led to peace between 5,000 people. It really demonstrates the impact that her work has – and the how much community can achieve when they lead with their own hands. As the week went on it became more and more evident that Rasha’s stories gave people a different perspective on conflict resolution, and how it is possible for the people on the frontline of violence to lead their communities into peace. Her stories offer real insight into the role of women in peacebuilding and how much can be achieved with small amounts of money. She asked that now we continue to tell her stories and to keep challenging the way people perceive the role of local people in countries that have suffered through years of war.
I really hope you enjoyed the talk, thank you so much for coming and we are already looking forward to seeing you again. You might be also interested in our upcoming facilitation training for women on the topic of encouraging inter-faith dialogue.

Best wishes,
