The Truce 20/20 project offers Newham young people 16-21 the opportunity to complete an OCN and YAA accredited ‘Peace Builders’ Workshop’, run over consecutive Wednesday evenings from 6-8.30pm for 10 weeks, including a residential weekend complete with outdoor activities. During this time, the young people will gain skills in conflict resolution, mediation and design and facilitation of workshops for groups of other young people and adults.
The participants will also have the opportunity to meet and engage with an international peace builder from a ‘hot’ conflict region during the course. Afterwards, the young people will be supported to take part in different volunteering opportunities and contribute to making our Newham community a better place to be.
We are going to be holding ‘taster’ sessions, which are led by Truce graduates and give the young people who are interested an opportunity to ask questions and find out more about our project. The ‘taster’ sessions are going to be held in Conflict and Change, East Ham, at 6 o’clock on these dates:
• Thursday 27th January
• Thursday 3rd February
• Tuesday 8th February
• Thursday 10th February
If any of the young people are interested to take part, or you would like more information, please contact Klaudia Brezna on 0208 552 2050 or klaudia@conflictandchange.co.uk or check our www.truce2020.org website.
