Community Cohesion Network- ( CoCo Network):
The Community Cohesion Network is an outcome of Conflict and Change 25th year anniversary seminar on ‘Community Cohesion’ in October 2010. Prof Ted Cantle (Community Cohesion expert) was the keynote speaker. As a result of his inspirational presentation participants requested Conflict and Change facilitate an ongoing Community Cohesion Network in Newham. The CoCo Network has been ongoing for about a year now with regular representation from the Voluntary, Community, faith and Local authority.
The agreed purpose of the network is to:
• Work together to ensure Community Cohesion is encouraged /supported in Newham
• Share Good practice stories of Community Cohesion
• Working together to ensure there is engagement from the community
• Collaborate to move forward on key issues with agreed proposals
• Encourage a sense of mutual support between different sector

This network is developed to bring together community and faith based projects and initiatives which are building trust and community spirit and to encourage participants to share of good practice and offer support and resources to each other. The Network meets bi-monthly and is open to organisations, groups, or individuals with a passion to meet with others doing similar community bridge-building work.

- Newham Refugee & Migrants Forum.

The Community Development team supports the Newham Refugees and Migrants Forum to encourage the different Refugee groups to work together and to bring refugees and members of the wider community together through regular cultural festivals, such as annual Refugee Week Festival and other community events
