Letter from a client
The following letter was sent to us at Conflict & Change by one of our clients:
“We have lived in Newham for 1½ years in a ground floor flat, and we have been having trouble with our neighbour who kept making a lot of noise. We went to [another organisation] who did not class the banging and thumping as a noise nuisance, so we contacted the Housing Officer and he recommended that we contact Newham Conflict & Change.
Two volunteers from C&C came to see us and they were more helpful because they listened to our problems. A lady at C&C made appointments for us and our neighbours to attend a mediation meeting, but our neighbour could not make the first two appointments, only the third one. At the third appointment, which our neighbour managed to attend, we talked over the problems concerning the noise and I felt good because she listened to me.
Even though we are still in contact with Conflict & Change to let them know how things are going, I don’t think our problems would have been solved – or helped – without Conflict & Change. We would recommend that if you have problems and you don’t seem to get anywhere, give Conflict & Change a chance to help you out.”
