When you completed your mediator training you should have been given a copy of our Volunteer Handbook, which is always a good place to start if you're looking for general information about your role as a mediator.

But if you're not sure about how to approach a particular case, or are concerned about a visit or mediation that you were involved in, or just want to talk things over with someone, please phone Bev or Mike at Conflict and Change on 020 8552 2050. We'll be happy to hear from you!

Forms and guidance

We try not to be too bureaucratic, but there are a few forms that you may find useful for client visits and mediations. When you click on the links below, you may be prompted to save the documents on your computer, and you can then open and read them:

  • Some of you have told us you're not sure what to include in your report after a visit, so we've produced a template mediator visit report. You don't have to use this, but it's a very useful reminder of what's helpful for us to know.
  • If you're doing a joint mediation meeting, you might like a reminder of our usual ground rules.
  • And of course if you have any travel expenses, don't forget to give Josh your travel claim form.

Finally, if you're looking for a quick summary of things to remember when visiting clients, you might find it helpful to check out our various guidelines, but please bear in mind that these are very basic and simplistic:
